I was in communications with Dom Mason about combining landscape photography with my passion for mountain biking. We had discussed getting some shots of my new SYNC titanium 29er and I had a shot in mind but as always it doesn’t quite work out. However my friend Neil Porter and I took the bike out onto Dartmoor, up to Bowerman’s Nose and tried various compositions but the light was just starting to go.
Neil shot off and started shooting his own stuff so I was left getting a shot of the bike. However if by magic the sky lit up and I had the bike setup in the right place at the right time. I sent Dom a selection of shots and he picked this one for the double page spread advert in Mountain Bike Rider Magazine (Sept 2013 issue) this month. So was very chuffed that Dom liked it enough to want to use if for the advert but also that I was proud of having such a stunning bike in such a gorgeous park of the country.
