I now have the odd Wednesdays off from work now but obviously I can’t book the weather. I re-visited Meldon Reservoir again but followed the northern path around it towards Black Tor. I headed up towards the waterfalls and clambered over the rocks. I was very concerned about falling in and down the rocks, being on my own, so I trod carefully. The sun broke through on occasions making exposing a little tricky. I headed off over Homerton Hill towards Black Tor. The very high winds made it hard going and took, what seemed ages, to get to the tops of the three outcrops of Black Tor. I struggled to get shots up the there as the winds nearly knocked my tripod over several times and I was concerned about the wind taking my filters too!
I made my way down to the West Okement River, towards the weir and then suddenly realised I had forgotten my lunch. It was going to be a hungry afternoon I thought. I got the falls and tried to get down to the river to shoot but it’s very steep and ended up after some clambering, giving up and following the track down to the bridge and then walking back up the river edges. The sun broke out (well hazy) a few times but then the cloud thickened. As I left towards the Dam the weather closed in and the tops of the tors were shrouded. I had left at a good time. Today was more of a recce rather than a valuable photo shoot and get a bit of exercise. All good fun with a few shots to boot.
