I was invited to speak at the Newton Abbot Photographic Club recently to talk about my landscape photography. The first half was talking about how I got into landscape photography, almost 3 years ago to the day, when I first bought my Canon 5DII.
I explained how I progressed onto shooting without filters and then acquiring an eye for different genres like cropped landscapes, side-lighting, mist and the beauty of our local landscape.
I also included a short time-lapse sequence that I had shot during summer an autumn (getting to grips with doing it and compiling the footage).

The second half was dedicated to my recent trip to the US storm chasing, including some GoPro time-lapse footage of the chases we were on and explaining how severe thunderstorms are generated and why we see tornadoes and other weather phenomena.
I finished off with a few images of my recent trip to the Isle of Skye and the luck with the weather we had during the trip!
I think the 2 hours was received well and I received quite a few questions at the end about technique and kit especially. Thanks to NAPC for inviting me and also for an open invitation back to talk. I have another similar take at Crediton Photography Club coming in January 2016; www.creditonphotographyclub.co.uk.
